Famous People You Did Not Realize Have Died

It seems as though the world mourns when a famous celebrity dies. However, many have left us and you did not even know it. Luckily, we have movies and their other works to help memorialize them. Here’s also a list of those celebrities you didn’t realize have past, and you definitely don’t want to forget!

#1. Marcia Wallace

Marcia Wallace may best be remembered for her voice acting as Mrs. Krabappel on The Simpsons. However, she also had many other acting roles such as Carol Kester in The Bob Newhart Show and Annie Wilkes on The Young and the Restless. Marcia passed in 2013, a week before her 71st birthday, of pneumonia and sepsis. The Simpsons episode “Four Regrettings and a Funeral” was dedicated to her.

#2. Chris Penn

Chris Penn is the brother of famed actor Sean Penn. However, Chris also had some amazing roles during his time in Hollywood such as Willard in Footloose, Josh LaHood in Pale Rider, and Clive in Rush Hour. Sadly, Chris died from cardiac irregularities in 2006. However, it is possible that Chris passed from a deadly combination of pills. Sean Penn once said in an interview, he thinks Chris’s obesity may have actually been the reason.

#3. Laura Branigan

The American singer-songwriter, Laura Branigan, may best be remembered for her musical hits like Gloria, Self-Control, Solitaire, or her biggest hit How Am I Supposed to Live Without You. Her music was also featured on multiple movie soundtracks such as Flashdance and Ghostbusters. Unfortunately, she passed in August 2004, in her sleep, from an previously-undiagnosed cerebral aneurysm.

#4. Barney Martin

Barney Martin was a comedy writer, actor and New York City Police Department detective. Martin had been doing on camera work since the mid 1950’s, however, he truly entered the Hollywood eye after landing a role in The Producers in 1967. He went on to land many roles, including his most famous, as Jerry Seinfeld’s father, Morty, on Seinfeld. At the age of 82, in 2005, Martin lost his battle to lung cancer.

#5. Richard Attenborough

Richard Attenborough was an actor, director, producer and politician. He may best be remembered for his acting or directorial roles in Miracle on 34th Street, Jurassic Park, and Gandhi. He won 2 Oscars for his work on Ghandi. He was also the President of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Unfortunately, Attenborough died of heart complication, in 2014, at the age of 90.
